our future shall be glorious.

I sometimes think Marc Johns is inside my head.
Bit of a loved up post innit? Not directed towards anyone in particular... just my thoughts on life at the moment :)

Life is very good indeed.

The First Second Wednesday Bookclub

Ok, so maybe I didn't actually read the book. There were far more important issues at hand...

Such as good food...

... delightfully delicious $5 wine...

And catching up with old friends :)

Sort your shit out

I should sort my shit out. Like these toothbrushes... I mean, how sorted are they? They're loving it! Some people totally have their shit sorted. My sister is one of those people. I guess you have to have your shit pretty sorted if you have five kids. They each have a spare toothbrush in their holiday house. I think the spare toothbrush is a sign of having your shit sorted. I always forget to bring a toothbrush when I go away somewhere. Always. Maybe if my shit was more sorted I would blog more often... hmmmm...

A Splendid Breakfast

Today we made porridge with sultanas and apricots for breakfast. Delicious.

Dell made a giant list of everyone playing at Splendour in the Grass. It was a long, long list. Oh wow. I'm excited. Yeah.

Monday Menu

Today's Monday Menu is brought to you by $3.99 soup pack, $1.38 kidney beans, unspecified frigidaire miscellany and the ever insatiable desire to drink cheap, red wine.

Ahh the Bowler's Run. An exceptional South Australian Shiraz. Excellent value at just over $2 a bottle! However no laser eyes. Alas.

We got the mulled wine recipe from taste.com.au, but added limes and less sugar. And FYI, that is not Vegemite toast. Our toaster is just rubbish.

Chocolate banana bread for desert! Tasty taste! Recipe below...

Chocolate Banana Bread
from Janet and Dell

120g butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp bi-carb soda
1/4 cup warm milk
1/2 cup chopped chocolate
1 tb cocoa
1 egg, beaten
3 chopped/mashed bananas
2 cups S.R. flour

Cream butter and sugar. Stir bi-carb soda into milk and add to mixture. Fold in chocolate, egg, sifted flour and cocoa and bananas. Place in bread tin and bake at 180 C for 40-45 minutes.

PS: Dell and Clarice did most of the cooking. You guys are all sorts of wonderful.
