A Splendid Breakfast

Today we made porridge with sultanas and apricots for breakfast. Delicious.

Dell made a giant list of everyone playing at Splendour in the Grass. It was a long, long list. Oh wow. I'm excited. Yeah.

Monday Menu

Today's Monday Menu is brought to you by $3.99 soup pack, $1.38 kidney beans, unspecified frigidaire miscellany and the ever insatiable desire to drink cheap, red wine.

Ahh the Bowler's Run. An exceptional South Australian Shiraz. Excellent value at just over $2 a bottle! However no laser eyes. Alas.

We got the mulled wine recipe from taste.com.au, but added limes and less sugar. And FYI, that is not Vegemite toast. Our toaster is just rubbish.

Chocolate banana bread for desert! Tasty taste! Recipe below...

Chocolate Banana Bread
from Janet and Dell

120g butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp bi-carb soda
1/4 cup warm milk
1/2 cup chopped chocolate
1 tb cocoa
1 egg, beaten
3 chopped/mashed bananas
2 cups S.R. flour

Cream butter and sugar. Stir bi-carb soda into milk and add to mixture. Fold in chocolate, egg, sifted flour and cocoa and bananas. Place in bread tin and bake at 180 C for 40-45 minutes.

PS: Dell and Clarice did most of the cooking. You guys are all sorts of wonderful.

The Boy Least Likely Flu

Gah. I am still sickly sickly and still at home chillin' in ma room. However now I am missing work... oh the guilt! I am not even at work and I am stressing about work. It appears that I cannot be sick without having to action the bazillion or so emails that find their way into my inbox every freaking day (ok, so maybe there are only like 50 a day, but seriously). Oh well. I am listening to Be Gentle With Me by The Boy Least Likely To. It makes me happy. It also makes me wish that I was out in the sunshine, picker-nicking with the fine young gentleman in the picture above, listening to 7" EPs under a cartoon rainbow. I wonder if they would care to share my joyous influenza??? ;)

Dapper

The stylish members of SAPE (Société des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Élégantes) understand the importance of dapper dressing, above all things.

Salutations!

There are so many cool blogs out there. The first blog I first fell in love with was Elinkan. Elin has the most terrific outfits and her photos are all sorts of amazing! The night I discovered this little gem I was awake until the wee hours trawling through the archives... So. Good. I now have quite the collection in Google Reader and have often thought about starting a blog of my own.

About a month ago I severed my long-term relationship with Facebook. I am starting to feel left out of the virtual loop and have nowhere to post my ramblings. And today I am sick, it is a freezing cold Autumn's day and I intend to spend the rest of the day inside drinking tea and watching documentaries. Could there be a better time to start a blog?

So here I am. It's nice to meet you. The photos are from my iPhone. On Wednesday night we played Wisest Wizard in The Cave. I was pretty wise by the end of the night ;)
